There’s something about a mostly-empty beach on a cold and sunny day that draws me in. The sand is windswept and clean, there’s no music or chatter. The waves and the wind are the only sounds. One thinks of the enormity of the ocean, this one gigantic ocean, one of four on Earth, and all the life inside it… all of it unconcerned with the goings-on outside its boundaries.
