Your Saturday Six

I hope you’re doing well and feeling pretty good.
Check this stuff out and see what you think…

  1. I had a great lunch conversation with my coworker Grace; we discussed how Asteroid City felt more like someone trying to make a Wes Anderson film and less like an actual Wes Anderson film. (No heart? Was that the problem?) We also got into the ending of Game of Thrones and the differences between Martin’s books and the TV series. (Catelyn Stark became a white walker?) The Batman came up too, and I mentioned a cool Zoë Kravitz/Steven Soderbergh collab called Kimi.

  2. Attention fans of flash fiction! Six Sentences is back—check out the Writer’s Guidelines. You know that little something you wrote that you like a lot but you don’t know where it should live? Is it six sentences? If not, can you make it six sentences? Do it!

  3. I’m loving the US Open tennis matches. You too? Gauff’s comeback against Sabalenka was just tremendous. (By the way, y’all remember Jimmy Conners?)

  4. Can’t mention tennis without mentioning Sebastian Sprinkles.

  5. “We’re not using our brains enough, leaving us open to being replaced by AI. The brain is a muscle to be exercised regularly or like a car that you must keep tuned up.” (From Linda Sechrist’s article, “Lifelong Learning: Benefits of Being the Forever Student.” With kids returning to schools this week, it’s a good reminder to stay curious.)

  6. AutoDraw is one of the most effortless online drawing tools, and tons of fun to use. Enjoy!
